A brief introduction to MEA
The Malayalee Engineers’ Association of Houston, TX, is a professional, nonprofit and nonpolitical organization of engineering graduates of Malayalee origin.
The organization provides a forum to professionally and socially interact, discuss topics of mutual interest and concerns, engage in charitable activities, and find ways to promote organizational growth. In addition, MEA, through its scholarship initiative, provides financial assistance to economically backward and academically brilliant undergraduate engineering students in India.
MEA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
History and Principles
In the year 2000, Malayalee Engineers’ Association, (MEA) Houston launched a modest, but visionary scheme to provide assistance to brilliant undergraduate students who were struggling to pursue their studies due to financial hardships. For the Malayalee engineers who resided in Houston area, this was an opportunity to give back to the society and institutions that cared and nurtured many of us.
