Day lives in Katy with his wife, Kiran, and their two amazing children, Amelia and Alvis. Day moved to Houston in 2013 and originally hails from Trichur. Day has been involved with MEA since 2017 and served on the MEA Board of Directors in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Sheetal has a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from Sahrdaya College of  Engineering, Thrissur and a Master’s in Business Administration (Finance), from Christ University, Bangalore. Sheetal is currently working as a Senior Database and BI Specialist at Berkley Oil and Gas. She lives in Sienna, Missouri City, with her husband, Dany Thayil, and they are blessed with two sons, Philip and Mathew.

Ajai Peter holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum and an MS in Design Management from London South Bank University. Ajai is currently working as the Director of Technical Services at Zentech Inc. and resides in Katy with his wife Anu and their daughters, Diya and Tanya. After 17 years of living in Dubai, they relocated to Houston in 2021 and have called Katy home ever since.

Swapna Mukrappilly did her B.Tech in Polymer Engineering from University College of Engineering, Thodupuzha and holds a Master’s in software engineering from UT Austin. Swapna is currently working as a Senior Application System Analyst at MD Anderson Cancer Care Center. She lives in Sugar Land with her husband Joshy and three children.

Shimna has a B.E in Electrical and Electronics from Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) and an MBA in Healthcare Administration,  Texas A&M University..

Shimna has had the joy of serving our community as a Dance Teacher, Choreographer, Community Volunteer and Fashion Show coordinator for over a decade. She is in healthcare management and have called the Houston area home for over twenty years, currently living in Richmond with her husband and son.

Angitha holds a Bachelor’s degre in Computer Science from BCM College, Kottayam, Masters in Computer Application (MCA) from  IGNOU and MS in Computer Science, Monroe University, New York.

Angitha works as a Production Support Analyst at Tata Consultancy Services, supporting client operations for Cardinal Health. She lives in Missouri City with her husband, Anvesh Mohan, and their two children, Aaghniya and Agasthya.

Radha has a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Mohandas College of Engineering, Trivandrum and holds an MS in OD and Project Management from University of Houston. Radha is currently working as the IT Program Manager at Fort Bend ISD and resides in Katy with her husband Akhilesh and their son, Namish and daughter Navomi. They have been living in houston since 2010, and this is their second home.

Sojan Antony is a naval architect, an alumnus of Dept. of Ship Technology, CUSAT and a graduate from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. Sojan has proudly called the Houston area his home for more than twenty five years. He has been associated with MEA since 2002, serving as Treasurer in 2003 and 2014. He now lives in Cypress with his wife, Maya, and their two children, Anna and Aaron. His hobbies include traveling, following the airline industry, exploring geography, and keeping up with politics.

Smitha holds a Master’s in Chemical Engg from Wayne State University, Detroit, & an MBA in Leadership & Business Strategy from CU, Denver. She completed her B.Tech in Chemical Engg from MGR Engg College, Chennai. Though she grew up in Chennai, her roots trace back to Thrissur.
With over two decades of experience in Data Analytics, Smitha is currently a Director of Data Analytics & BI in the solar energy industry. She is passionate about personal growth, enjoys learning new things, and finds meeting new people invigorating.
Smitha has been an active part of MEA, appreciating its mission to empower economically challenged students in Kerala through education, helping them unlock a future of growth and opportunities. She is excited about making an impact in our MEA scholars’ growth through engaging in mentorship initiatives.

Rajesh Kavilveedu has a B.Tech in Mech Engg, MA College of Engg, Kothamangalam. He has a PG Diploma in Planning and Project Management, from Hyderabad Central University. Rajesh also holds an MBA. in Finance and International business, from University of Houston. Rajesh grew up in Hyderabad, headed to Kerala for his Engineering studies, spent a good ten years working in Delhi and Pune, landed in Houston in 2004. He is currently Project Manager for Ethylene projects in Technip Energies.

Pradeep Kumar, originally from Thiruvananthapuram, has been a long-standing MEA
member since 1996 and is currently serving as a Trustee since April 2022. He is a
graduate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and retired as a Senior
Reservoir and Production Engineering Advisor after an accomplished 36-year career
with Chevron Oil Corporation. In his free time, he enjoys Malayalam, Hindi (and various
Indian music) and has performed on stage at various venues, including several previous
MEA events. Pradeep is married to Sushama Kumar and has two adult sons. He is also a
fond grandfather to two adorable grandchildren.

Soorya Suresh Ellickal is a chemical engineer graduated from GECT. Currently Process Director at Fluor, she is a founding member of MEA.
Personally committed to mentoring, giving back, and strengthening the community across generations.

Harish is a Naval Architect and Ocean Engineer with an undergraduate engineering degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology and a masters from Texas A&M. He currently resides in Sugar Land with his wife Beena and his 13-year-old son Abhimanyu. He has been part of MEA for over 15 years and is passionate about the impact MEA makes to the local community as well the lives of many deserving students back in Kerala.

Sudheer Sangunni works at Amazon and lives in Sugar Land with his wife, a daughter and a son. He is an active member of MEA for the past 10 years and has served in the board few times.

Ranjith Kondath is originally from Thrissur, Kerala and now resides in Katy with his family. A mechanical engineering graduate from GEC Thrissur, he also holds an MBA from Michigan State University. He has been associated with MEA for over a decade and with the scholarship committee for the past 6 years. Ranjith is passionate about making education accessible. In addition to MEA he is involved in a handful of other initiatives that advance lives through education. He is a partner at Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm.

Shija Abraham, originally from Kochi, has been a MEA member since 1995, currently living in Sugar Land. Graduated in Chemical Engineering from GEC Thrissur and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Houston. Working as Control Systems Engineering Group Supervisor at Bechtel energy.

Anitha is an Electrical engineer from GEC Thrissur and is currently working for Fort
Bend county. She lives in Richmond with her husband, two kids, and lovely puppy
named Lou.

Akhilesh Rajendran hails from Trivandrum, Kerala and is currently settled in Katy, Texas with his wife and two kids. He completed his engineering degree from the School of Engineering, CUSAT. Akhilesh works in the Cyber security domain and currently owns a boutique consulting firm advising its customers in Identity and Access Management. He has been active in MEA since 2012 and is part of the mentorship team for the past 2 years.

MEA member since 2013, active in the scholarship committee since 2017. Originally from Alleppey district in Kerala he did his undergraduate degree in Naval Architecture & Ship Building from CUSAT and Masters in Ocean engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station. Currently working as a facility engineer in Chevron specializing in mooring & installation of deepwater floating production systems.

Dr Najeeb Kuzhiyil is currently a Staff Engineer at Exxon Mobil Corporation, USA. An expert in fuels, lubricants, and engine combustion, he has a PhD. in Bio-renewable Resources from Iowa State University in the USA and a Master’s degree in Combustion and Energy from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, where he was a Shell Centenary-British Chevening Scholar. He is passionate about education and authored a book, Spirit of Engineering that explains the basics of engineering through a story. He has published his scientific research in many prestigious journals and holds many US patents. He lives in Houston, Texas.
