The MEA Scholarship and mentorship program have been instrumental in my academic and professional growth. I'm thankful for the guidance and support of the mentors, who helped me navigate challenges and achieve my goals.

I am Anjitha J, a 2024 graduate of Government Engineering College, Thrissur, and a proud recipient of the MEA Scholarship in 2020. MEA is not just a scholarship for me, it truly changed my life and stays close to my heart.

Their financial and mental support helped me navigate my college days smoothly, which otherwise would not have been the same. Thankyou MEA. 

When I first entered Computer Science & Engineering, I felt completely overwhelmed. As a Bio-Math student, I had little to no background in computers, and to make matters worse, the financial burden weighed heavily on me. My father’s unstable income made everything even more uncertain. We were constantly worried about how we’d manage the expenses for my education. I didn’t know where to turn or what to do.

Then, we discovered the MEA Scholarship, and it felt like a lifeline in the middle of a storm. The financial support they provided eased so many of my worries and allowed me to focus on my studies without the constant stress of how to make ends meet. But what truly touched me was how the MEA team went beyond just offering financial aid—they were a constant source of encouragement, support, and hope. They believed in me when I sometimes struggled to believe in myself. Without their help, I honestly don’t know where I would have been or what I would have done.

Thanks to the MEA Scholarship, I was able to pursue my engineering degree with peace of mind, knowing that there was a team looking out for me. Their support didn’t just help me financially—it helped me grow, stay motivated, and push through even the toughest times. It’s hard to put into words how much this support has meant to me.

My biggest wish was to study TKM engineering college. So I wrote KEAM exam and got admission there. But it was not a good distance to come and study, so I had to look at the hostel. But the biggest problem I faced there was paying the hostel fee. That's where MEA came looking for me. All I remember was that I couldn't get it, and then I finally got it. I can't express my happiness when I got it.

MEA has supported me a lot. Every time one of them would contact me and give me some suggestions which helped my studies a lot. What I liked the most was that we could contact them whenever we wanted and each of them would answer without any hesitation or anger. They are also very good friends of me.

MEA has given me more and more ideas. They have created many changes in my life. It should be mentioned that usually I was hesitant to speak in front of others and they helped me a lot to change that. Also, they helped me a lot during my studies.

The biggest help they have given me is this engineering degree itself. I don't even think I could have completed this study without MEA. Similarly, my family members often talk about the help MEA have given me.

I have no words to say because MEA has helped me so much. They have always seen me as one of them. The only thing I have to say at this time is that this association should remain forever. Like me, many children must be worried during this study period, and MEA is always a shadow for them. I also have a great desire to meet MEA team one day and be a help to other children.

I entered engineering without having any prior experience in computer science, which initially made it difficult for me to complete some technical activities like projects , workshops.

For the first time, being away from home and familiar surroundings had made me feel homesick and lonely. 

College expenses including tuition, hostel, and living costs, had caused financial difficulties in beginning.

The financial assistance from MEA has helped me to concentrate on my studies without being burdened by excessive financial stress.

Participating in a mentorship program provided me with a strong sense of inclusion. Through interactions with my mentor, I felt valued and respected within the academic community. I have achieved a CGPA of 8.9 during my academic journey, and placed at a company. This wouldn't have been possible without the valuable assistance and support I received from MEA.

I am extremely grateful for the support , opportunities and efforts they provided, which contributed to my growth and success. The main difficulty I faced was financial. I didn't have any idea about paying hostel and all. Being new to the engineering field initially, I encountered challenges due to the lack of proper guidance.

I am the first engineer in my family. I didn't have a perfect idea about engineering. But after hearing mentor's engineering and MBA experience gave me a great boost. All of the MEA mentors are already leading a successful life. It gave me great motivation and confidence to study so that I can also become a highly contributing member of society like you guys. As one of the privileged few eligible for the MEA scholarship, I felt a unique responsibility. The guidance and support from my mentors played a pivotal role in improving my professional skills. I was afraid during placements. However, he discussed his network of engineering contacts and assured me of his willingness to provide a referral if I faced challenges in securing a placement. As I mentioned earlier, the book on aptitude tests that my mentor provided, along with the advice he offered, played a crucial role in shaping my path during the placement process. This valuable resource aided me in successfully navigating the initial phase of the placement test. Subsequently, I progressed to the interview stage and triumphed. I am thrilled to share that I have now secured a position at Texas Instruments in Bangalore.

Definitely, I got placement as a Data engineer and I was actually confused in the beginning days whether or not to pursue AI developments. It was through MEA mentorship that Sibi sir motivated me and gave me confidence to move ahead and that has been reflected in my life and I am really grateful.

I had to stay away from my hometown as my college was located far away. At first, it was difficult to adjust to the new atmosphere, but I was able to stay on track. I was an inmate of men's hostel provided by college, hence I had to pay for hostel accommodation and food other than my tuition fees and exam fees. The scholarship amount was really helpful in dealing with those expenses.

In my personal opinion, the mentorship program was all about providing mental support. Chats and discussions with my mentor made me realize that I am not alone in this journey. Having people who support and encourage me was really helpful in reaching where I am today.

I was able to secure a university first rank in mechanical engineering. I can't say MEA played a direct role in this. But MEA played an important role in my journey to this achievement.

In the beginning of my engineering journey, the primary difficulty I encountered as a bio-math student was having no prior knowledge on programming. Some subjects were difficult to understand and I felt burdened to study, felt stressed during the end semester examination and had difficulties in communicating in English.

MEA provided financial assistance and mentoring. My mentor always gave support and guidance in my engineering journey. He gave classes and notes for exam preparation and references. My mentor helped to set my goal and gave suggestions on the path to move forward and gives the feedbacks.

I received 'First Class with distinction' in my B.Tech degree. I am currently pursuing Full Stack Development course to learn more in depth on building the front end and back end of website.

When I transitioned from my secondary school to one of the prestigious institutions, I encountered several challenges. Firstly, the college was located outside my hometown, which presented difficulties in managing my expenses such as accommodation and meals. Since the scholarship would only be granted starting from the end of the first year, I had to find ways to finance these essential needs. The competition at the institution was intense, given that all the students were exceptionally talented. This compelled me to dedicate myself diligently to my studies, an endeavor that ultimately propelled me forward. In addition, I grappled with communication skills, an area I recognized needed enhancement. Over time, I worked steadfastly to refine this skill, gradually witnessing significant improvement.

For me, MEA encompasses more than just financial support; it serves as a comprehensive system of assistance. Within this framework, MEA acts as a guiding light, offering valuable insights into problem-solving and aiding in the enhancement of skillsets. It goes beyond mere monetary aid, providing a holistic approach to growth and development.

MEA truly contributed to my overall personal and professional growth. As I mentioned, each of us receives our own mentor who guides us along the right path. Personally, I believe I was fortunate to have an excellent guide. We engage in monthly discussions during which I can share any challenges or issues I encounter at the institution, and my mentor suggests effective ways to address them. MEA provided not only financial assistance but also invaluable mental support. Furthermore, they assisted me in preparing for placements and offered guidance on what to prioritize. These monthly catch-up sessions have been instrumental in helping me identify where to concentrate my efforts and whether I am staying true to my intended path.

When I started college, I faced challenges with money and tough competition. The first year was tough because scholarships were given after seeing our semester results, so I had to find ways to cover my expenses. Getting a laptop was important for my studies, so I talked to my mentor about it. Even though it wasn't part of the scholarship, my mentor helped me get one, which was a big relief.

To earn extra money, I worked part-time doing deliveries, which made it a bit hard to manage both my studies and job. But things got better after I got financial help from MEA following the semester results. This support eased my difficulties and allowed me to focus more on my studies.

MEA didn't just stop at financial aid; they kept an eye on my progress and suggested areas for improvement. They took the time to address each of my issues individually, offering great help and support.

In my third year, placements started, and I didn't know how to handle them. As usual, I turned to my mentor for help, and their guidance helped me understand the process better. They also helped me improve my communication skills, which came in handy during interviews.

With newfound confidence and better skills, I did well in my interviews and landed a job as an electronics engineer at TISMO Technology Solutions, an electronics company in Bangalore. This success not only proved my determination but also showed how MEA's unwavering support played a crucial role in my college journey.

Even after we finish our degree, MEA still keeps in touch with all the scholars. They're good at using the experiences of graduates to help new students learn. One way they do this is through the MEA mentorship program, which is like a guide that helps us connect different parts of our education.

In college, the most faculties don't teach much compared to school. So, we had to change completely to referring books and studying on our own.
